Procrastination is more than habit, it is an addiction! And no matter how much you try, changing this is near impossible. Chronic procrastinators struggle to complete their work before time, but that never happens. You put off your assignments, studies and work until the last minute and finally rush through it during the last few hours.
Here are a few things you will relate to if you are a procrastinator!
1.) “There is ample time to do it!” is one line you find yourself saying all the time.
You keep thinking that there is ample time to do your work until the day of the deadline. And on the final day, you complete your work at a speed that is simple amazing!
2.) You keep promising yourself that you will never ever push your work to the last minute again.
The stress at the last minute gets a little too much. So, you always plan to start well in advance the next time. But that never happens.
3.) You never find the right time to work.
You are bored during the morning, get lethargic after lunch, go for a stroll in the evening and want to sleep at night. You keep pushing your work for another time and before you realize it, the day is gone!
4.) Last minute pressure is the only thing that pushes you to work.
You suddenly realise that submission date has arrived, and then PANIC! You get to work rightaway and finish your work in exactly half the time!
5.) You get distracted every time you sit to work.
Anything from your friend’s whatsapp message to a new video on Facebook can divert your attention from your work. And you find yourself spending ample time doing something completely irrelevant.
6.) When you tell your friends that you still haven’t started, they just don’t believe you.
And no matter how much you convince them, they think you are lieing. You keep trying though, but they just won’t believe it!
